Catholic Charities Hosts Supply Drive for Hurricanes Milton & Helene Survivors
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Baton Rouge (CCDBR) is hosting a one-day, item-specific drive on Monday, October 28 in response to Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene. The drive will be held at the Westerfield Center at 1800 S. Acadian Thruway, Baton Rouge, LA 70808 from 9 AM – 6 PM.

Baton Rouge, LA – News broke earlier this week that Feeding Louisiana will begin administering the senior food program, and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New Orleans (CCANO) decided to discontinue their partnership with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH). Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Baton Rouge (CCDBR) wants clients and the community to rest assured that their Faith-Full Mobile Food Pantry is still operating and is not affected by this partnership change between LDH and Feeding Louisiana. An 18-month nightmare, one that seemed much longer at times, was over. No longer would he be confined to living in only the den and kitchen of his home that was ravaged by Hurricane Ida.

Dr. Lisa Namikas Named Catholic Charities USA’s Volunteer of the Year

While many programs are available to assist with disaster recovery, Hurricane Ida survivors may still need help recovering from the storm. The Hurricane Ida Disaster Case Management Program (DCMP) connects survivors with available resources and provides free advice to help meet their remaining needs.
